Countdown Day

Checked October 9, 2026 · added counts for calendar feed refreshes and embedded widget loads

Short version: we do not know who you are, and we have arranged the site so we do not need to.

What happens to the dates I enter?

Calculators and countdowns run in your browser. Your birthday, your target date and the name you give a countdown are not sent to our server when you use a tool. To learn how the tools are used, we count only a rough range for a date or number you set, such as "8 to 30 days from today", never the date or the name itself. If you share a countdown, its details are written into the link itself, so anyone you send it to can read them. If you download a calendar file, our server builds it from the details in the request and does not keep a copy.

Do you use cookies?

No tracking cookies and no advertising networks. The site stores one setting in your browser's local storage: your light or dark theme choice. It never leaves your device.

What do you count?

To see which tools are useful, pages send small anonymous events, such as "a calculator was used," "the calendar button was clicked" or "a date 8 to 30 days away was picked," with the page type. These events have no cookie, no user ID and no IP address attached by us. They are counted in aggregate.

Page views are counted the same way: one count per page per day, together with the kind of place the visit came from (a search engine such as Google, an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, a site such as Pinterest or Reddit, our app, a calendar feed or widget of ours, or no referring site). The address of the referring page is not sent or kept. When an AI assistant opens a page to answer someone's question, our server adds one to a count named after that assistant; nothing else about the request is kept.

Two more server counts cover our calendar feeds and our countdown widget. When a calendar app re-reads a feed you subscribed to, we add one to a count with the kind of app, such as Apple or Google, and nothing else. When a site shows our countdown widget in a frame, we add one to a count with that site's domain name only, never the address of the page or anything about the visitor.

Our web host, Cloudflare, processes the standard technical data any website receives, such as IP addresses, in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We do not use that data to identify you.

What does the contact form collect?

The message you write, plus a name and email address if you choose to give them. Messages are delivered to a private channel that our team reads, hosted on Discord. We use your email only to reply. The form may use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam, which checks your browser without a puzzle. Ask us through the same form and we will delete a message you sent.

What if I buy something?

If a paid printable is offered, checkout runs on Gumroad. Gumroad handles payment and receives your email and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive the order details needed to deliver the file. Nothing is on sale yet.

Children

The site is a general-audience calendar tool. It does not ask for or knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because we hold almost nothing, there is little to request. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar laws you may ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it; for most readers the answer is nothing. We do not sell or share personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date in the "Checked" line will change and the difference will be described here.
